This is one of my favorite works, done my senior year in highschool. After the initial idea I had someone take photos of me laying on the floor of the art room in a way that it created the perspective. I used those to draw the figure from. After that I added a 1 point perspective grid to create depth & the "on the edge" affect. I added the cars on the street to help communicate the setting, that it was a ledge of a very tall building. I chose white prismacolor on black mattboard to somewhat convey the feelings of someone in such a position. Solitary & alone on a ledge in the dark late at night, hugging the wall in fear yet looking down contemplating wether to jump or not...
this is an amazing piece, great perspective, its definitely unique. perfect use of line to draw the viewer into the picture.. and awesome detail in the hair and i love what you did with the lighting especially. this really captures the eye!
Nah id never actually comit suicide. At the time there were alot o things that made me feel like jumpin off a building though, but rather then actually do it i chose to draw it, haha.
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
A Special Collection of photographs i found this month that still haunts my mind. Show them some love There are always some i can`t include due to space, i try to make the features under 50 deviations to give them better exposure
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
